What’s It All About?

Take time this summer to refresh and plan for next school year at iEARN-USA’s Summer Institute! Reconnect with your “why” and return to the classroom reinvigorated, with new skills, connections, and resources.

With the theme of “How to Become a Global Educator”, this 4-day Summer Institute will use a blend of interactive virtual workshops and engaging online content to develop your competence as a global educator. You will do a deep dive on the “what” and “why” of global education and global competence, exploring and developing the dispositions, knowledge, and skills needed to be a competent global educator. Through looking inward and identifying personal global competence strengths and areas of improvement, you’ll develop an individual action plan for growth as a global educator. At the end of the 4 days, you’ll walk away ready to apply global competence strategies and resources to your classroom or professional practice. 

During both live workshops and asynchronous online content, you’ll collaborate with and support the growth of other educators from around the globe. What You’ll Learn 

By completing this Summer Institute, participants will be able to:

• Describe the “what” and “why” of global competence
• Analyze and begin to develop the dispositions, knowledge, and skills needed to be a competent global educator
• Identify where they currently sit along a continuum of global educator dispositions, knowledge, and skills 
• Identify areas for personal improvement and create an action plan for individual growth as a global educator
• Apply global competence strategies and resources to their classroom or professional practice
