Global Connections and Exchange Journalism 2.0 Program

This two-year program, funded by the Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs of the US Department of State, focuses on providing funds and skills to US schools to develop skills in journalism and media among high school students in Ecuador, Pakistan, Tajikistan Thailand, and the USA by examining the national elections that will occur in these countries in 2012-2013.

As part of the project, students throughout the US will be eligible to take a World Youth News Certification course that has been developed by iEARN in collaboration with the New York Times and the Columbia University School of Journalism. The project is made possible through a $425,000 grant. In addition to iEARN organizations in each of the countries, Global Kids, UNICEF and the Universidad Casa Grande in Ecuador are also assisting in administration of this project.
