Eleven US teachers from six different states participated in a professional development workshop in New York City for the Global Connections and Exchange Journalism 2.0 Program.

The Program focuses on engaging participants from the US, Ecuador, Pakistan, Tajikistan, and Thailand in cross-cultural collaboration to help youth develop journalism and media skills.

The 3 day workshop, held March 22-24, was the first step in preparing teachers for the program. Upon completion of the teacher workshops in each country, the same teachers from all five countries will participate in an online course together this summer.

This Global Connections and Exchange Program (GCEP) is made possible through funding from the Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State.
