From May 16-18, a group of teachers in Ecuador are participating in a three-day workshop in Guayaquil for their first experience with iEARN as part of the Global Connections and Exchange High School Journalism 2.0 Program.

On April 21, 2012, NSLI-Y students in Taiwan and South Korea participated in volunteer activities as part of Global Youth Service Day.

Earlier this Spring Ed Gragert, Director Emeritus at iEARN-USA, moderated a live meeting at COSN, with iEARN educators Eliane Metni in Lebanon, Hela Nafti from Tunsia and Arwa Al-Awadi from Yemen.

iEARN Adobe Youth Voices educators in São Paulo gathered in Ibirapuera Park (the biggest park in São Paulo) and produced a video inspired by the Adobe Youth Voices theme 'Create with Purpose.'

Kuwait High School Journalism participants learn how social networks have affected the journalism field.

iEARN programs around the world, including Egypt and USA, partner to help promote Silver Scorpion comic book character created by American and Syrian youth.

In March, 11 US teachers from 6 states participated in a workshop in NYC for the Global Connections and Exchange Program, which engages participants in cross-cultural collaboration to help youth develop journalism and media skills.

Sunday April 22nd is Earth Day. In the lead up to Earth Day, iEARN educators from around the world have been posting about events they are preparing, and the ways that they will raise awareness with their students to protect the natural environment that sustains us.

Join a writing project, crossing classrooms and continents, in which each participating student or group of students adds a chapter - resulting in a joint novel made up of global contributors.

iEARN Adobe Youth Voices participants around the world are busy preparing their media for both the global Aspire Awards and their own local end of year exhibition events, including events this month in Argentina and Mexico.

Students from Tuncsiper Lisesi in Turkey welcome their new classmate, a Teddy Bear from St. Joseph's Grade School in New Jersey, as part of the Natural Disaster Youth Summit Little Ambassador Program.

March 13th-16th, part of the Global Connections and Exchange (GCE) program, and because of this grant, iEARN-Thailand’s first national meeting of teachers. Thailand is one of five countries participating in the program, along with Ecuador, Pakistan, Tajikistan and the U.S.

Are you looking for examples to help align your global project work to the Common Core State Standards?
Starting last summer, with support from the Buck Institute for Education, several of our teachers aligned their iEARN projects to the Common Core State Standards. We look forward to sharing more lesson plans and hosting webinars outlining how global collaborative projects meet the standards coming months.

A tradition of flying kites with personal and group images of peace and dreams for a better world. Students around the world are currently designing their kites in preparation to fly them during the Equinox - join them!
