Students make a committment to community service in their home communities when thy graduate from the Kennedy-Lugar Youth and Exchange Study program. In order to fulfill their vow, 20 Senegalese alumni committed to volunteer their time and resources to a local orphanage.

The children home called “Pouponniere des Soeurs Franciscaines” is located in Medina, Dakar. It is home to about 80 orphans, aged 0 to 2 years. in addition to spending valuable time with the infants, YES alumni provided much needed necessities such as milk and diapers.
