Bangladesh Teachers Begin New Year with Photojournalism

From January 2nd - 4th, a group of teachers in Bangladesh started of the new year by participating in a two-day workshop in Dhaka at the Edward M. Kennedy Center for Public Services and The Arts for their first workshop on the Photojournalism 2.0 Program.

Fourteen teachers from 7 governement schools in Bangladesh joined their peers in Pakistan and Tajikistan for the Photojournalism 2.0 Program. The workshop introduced educators to photojournalism, digital storytelling for social change, and global collaboration. Trainers included experienced journalists, experts in digital storytelling, and social change agents.Upon completion of the teacher workshops in each country, the same teachers from all three countries will participate in an online course together this spring.

The Photojournaslim Program (PJ2.0) is made possible through funding from the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs of the U.S. Department of State. The program focuses on engaging participants in cross-cultural collaboration to help youth develop photojournalism and media skills. See the full photo album below.
