iEARN joins our partners at Kids Can Make a Difference to celebrate their 25th anniversary! iEARN has been working with KIDS since 2010, when they became a prominent partner and program in our international network. KIDS is an educational program for middle- and high school students focuses on the root causes of hunger and poverty, the people most affected, solutions, and how youth can help. The major goal is to stimulate the students to take some definite follow-up actions as they begin to realize that one person can make a difference.
For the last nine years, KIDS and iEARN have worked together to conduct the Finding Solutions to Hunger project, which is housed in iEARN’s Collaboration Centre. In the global collaborative project, educators and youth from countries around the world research and discuss the root causes of hunger and poverty and take meaningful actions to help create a more just and sustainable world.

iEARN-USA is honored to continue partnering on the project with the support and stamp of approval from the founders of the Finding Solutions to Hunger, Jane Finn Levine, Ed.D., and Larry Levine.
In addition to her involvement with WHY and KIDS, Jane received a Doctor of Education degree in nutrition and education from Teachers College, Columbia University. As a nutrition educator, she has researched, written, and lectured extensively about how food marketers target school children and about the ethics of the nutrition profession’s complicity in such marketing efforts. Previously, she wrote the “Nutrition Watch” column for Why. Magazine. Prior to beginning her studies in 1987, Jane spent 18 years with Fortune 500 companies as a computer programmer, systems analyst and project manager. Jane is a member of the WhyHunger Advisory Board.
Larry Levine has taught the KIDS program in many schools in New England and Metropolitan New York City. He also edits the KIDS newsletter, which is sent to more than 10,000 subscribers. Prior to KIDS, Larry was Executive Vice-President of marketing and sales for an international corporation based in New York City. During this period, he also conducted a seminar for juniors and seniors at the Fashion Institute of Technology. Larry is a member of the WhyHunger Advisory Board.
The passion and dedication of Jane and Larry through KIDS and Finding Solutions to Hunger is inspiring. The knowledge and outcomes learned and experiences by youth who participate truly does make a difference!
