#GivingTuesday Impact

Dec 1, 2017 | Events, News

On Tuesday, November 28th, iEARN-USA held a full-day celebration for #GivingTuesday!

With the generous support of the community, and a match from Facebook and The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, we successfully raised more than $10,000 to forward global education programs and opportunities for meaningful cross-cultural connections for K-12 youth and educators in the U.S. and internationally.

Passport-to-iEARN

Throughout the day we held Passport to iEARN – 12-hrs of Live-streaming Webinars on Facebook Live introducing iEARN-USA’s programs and international community.

On Facebook, there was incredible engagement from the community: 2,070 post engagements, 3,752 video views, 21 new followers, and 13 new 5 star reviews.

iEARN-USA staff, educators, project facilitators, NSLI-Y and YES program alumni, and supporters of iEARN joined in throughout the day. We had a great time sharing about all of iEARN’s programs, and engaging in a discussion about global education.

Open House

We also held an Open House at our offices in NYC from 4pm-7pm for local educators, community members, neighbors, and supporters.

There were plenty of fun activities offering guests a chance to learn about iEARN through a timeline gallery of iEARN’s history and experience an iEARN projects first-hand. Visitors experienced features of a brand-new collaboration project, “360 VR Cultural Exchange” with Google VR cardboard.
