Renee Day

iEARN Educator and Global Education Ambassador

Renee Day has been involved with iEARN since 2007 when she learned about the program at an education conference in Egypt. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Master of Arts in Diplomacy, with a concentration in International Conflict Management. Ms. Day is an advocate of iEARN and firmly believes that all children should have access to a quality education. She has 18 years of teaching experience at the secondary level, teaching history and government to students with special needs. Ms. Day has found that iEARN projects engage students in all disciplines and allows students of all abilities to participate in global education. She also serves as the advisor for the Model United Nations program in which students engage with the local community to address global issues facing youth.

When I compare the groups of students that I’ve chosen to participate in an iEARN project online to those students who aren’t participating, their engagement with the curriculum increases, their knowledge base increases, the vocabulary increases, writing becomes much more descriptive, and they seem to have a better appreciation for what's going on in the world around them.
