Mary Brownell

Global Education Ambassador

Mary is an English/Humanities teacher, reading specialist and global education teacher, having taught middle and high school at Abington Friends School and Springside Chestnut Hill Academy in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. She holds Masters Degrees in English, Secondary Education and Reading Comprehension. She is a BRIDGE Course Facilitator, an iEARN Project Facilitator of Finding Solutions to Hunger and an iEARN-USA Global Ambassador. She works closely with KIDS (Kids Can Make A Difference) as a board member and curriculum consultant. Currently involved in both academic study and professional writing, Mary has received National Endowment For The Humanities(NEH) fellowships for the study of 20th Century American Women Writers, the Italian Renaissance and Francesco Petrarch, John Milton and William Shakespeare. She has received literary honors from the Leeway Foundation, the Pennsylvania Council of the Arts, the Yeats Society of New York, the Robert Frost Foundation, the National Writers Union, Abroad Writers and others. She lives in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania, USA.
