I-Chun Tsai
Dr. I-Chun Tsai is an Associate Professor of Instructional Technology in the LeBron James Family Foundation School of Education at the University of Akron, Ohio. Dr. Tsai received her Ph.D. in the School of Information Science and Learning Technologies from the University of Missouri in May 2008. Dr. Tsai’s expertise includes visualizing social interaction of virtual learning environments, analyzing social nature of online learning, and design and integrating instructional technologies (i.e. AI technologies, Virtual Reality, 3D Printing, interactive multimedia, etc.) in K-12 settings.
Dr. Tsai’s expertise and research focuses on:
- Artificial Intelligence in Education (Design/Application & Ethical Concerns)
- Designing and Integrating interactive technologies in K-12 settings
- Assistive Technology in K-12 settings
- Social Computing in Online Learning Community of Practice
- Computer Supported Collaborative Learning (CSCL)
- Computer Mediated Communication (CMC)
- Visualizing Social Interaction of Virtual Learning Environments
- Technology Integration in Global Education
Currently, Dr. Tsai has several ongoing projects in studying: Using 3D Printing Tools to Support Learning of Neuron Science; Applying Social Network Analysis to Examine Impact of Social Interaction in Online Learning Environment; Impact and Awareness of AI Technologies in K-12; and Exploration of Current AI awareness, benefits, risks, and ethical concerns in K-12.
