Cathy Healy, an advocate for online, collaborative K-12 projects since 1989, participates in iEARN projects with students and teachers as well as serving on two of the education network’s boards, iEARN-USA and iEARN-Brasil. Her volunteer work at César Chavez Prep, a public charter middle school in Washington D.C., is a continuation of her literacy goals as a Reuters Digital Vision Fellow at Stanford University.

Cathy also is a board member of the DC-Brasília chapter of Partners of the Americas, an advisory board member of the University of Wyoming College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, and the founder and chair of the World Comes to Wyoming Fund. She is vice president of the LU Ranch (Worland, Wyoming), a family operation recognized for its sustainable practices and technological acumen (the first ranch to use computers).

The former editor of the Organization of American States’ bi-lingual Américas magazine and the National Geographic’s intranet, both award-winners, Cathy played a leading role in transitioning the Geographic into the Internet age.

Cathy has been an invited guest speaker on corporate communications, international collaborative projects with iEARN, and digital storytelling for such venues as Ragan Communications, U.S. State Department’s English Language Program (Egypt, India, Nepal, Chile), and TEDx in Santo Domingo and Port au Prince.

While deeply engaged in international education, Cathy continues to write. She is the author of An Improbable Pioneer: The Letters of Edith S. Holden Healy, 1911–1950, recently published under the imprint of the Washakie Museum & Cultural Center (Wyoming) as part of its Legacy Collection.
