Anne Mlod

Anne Mlod is the Librarian and Innovation Lab Coordinator at Genesee Elementary School, a K-6 school located in Auburn, New York. Prior to that she was the director of a public library. She is a graduate of Cornell University and the School of Information Studies at Syracuse University.

Anne is an alumna and ambassador of the Fulbright Teachers for Global Classrooms (TGC) Fellowship program. She is also a member of the International Association for School Librarianship, and has presented at their conferences in Turkey and Croatia.

Anne first connected with iEARN through the BRIDGE program, and has participated in the Action Research Learning Circle, Dreamline Project and Global Holiday Card Exchange. In 2019, she traveled to Cameroon after her school raised money for environmentalist Tantoh Nforba (the subject of Miranda Paul’s book “I Am Farmer”). Her experiences, which her students followed on her blog, prepared them for Paul and Tantoh’s visit to her school district.

Anne is Advisor to the school’s PRIDE Character Education Leadership group, which leads the school each year in a service learning project, and started the school’s first International Club, which is currently working on 3D printed solar powered lights for people living without safe light.
