| US Teacher Certification and Professional Development Credits
Participants who complete all course requirements will also receive certification from iEARN-USA. In addition, professional development credits are available for certain iEARN courses through the following state and city agencies.
California State
Academic Credits from Cal State San Marcos. Register at http://www.csusm-es.org/iEARN iEARN courses are eligible for 2 units of Extension Credit, at an additional cost of $166 per course. Extension Credit appears on official transcripts and are generally honored by school districts as evidence of professional advancement for salary increases on the pay scale. Credits are not degree applicable. Registration for credit must be completed through Extended Studies.
Delaware State
Public school teachers who take an iEARN course through participation in the approved International Education Cluster offered by the Delaware Department of Education will earn a 2% Professional Development Cluster Credit. See more about the Delaware Cluster Model.
Georgia
Learning With the World - Social Studies Online Course. In this 5-PLU course, teachers
will select and integrate an international collaborative project that
meets state and national curriculum standards. iEARN social studies
projects equip educators to help students understand how historical and
geographical conditions interact to shape their lives. This sharing of
information helps give children a deeper understanding of themselves,
their family, their community, and their world. Using themes from local
curriculum, students will share their knowledge and collaborate on
projects with classrooms from different locations around the world.
Appropriate for Elementary, Middle, Secondary.
Requirements:
- Complete 50 hours online work
- Georgia participants must get
prior approval from their principal or other designated school system
official in order to receive Georgia credit.
New Jersey
iEARN is a registered Professional Development Provider with the New Jersey Department of Education. Teachers earn 40 professional development hours for completing one online course.
New York City
Department of Education teachers will earn 3 "P" credit (in-service credit) * Teachers taking the course for 'P' credit must complete all assignments in order to receive credit.
Rhode Island State
Department of Education teachers will earn 40 - 45 contact hours for completing one online course. 15 contact hours equals 1 Professional Development Credit. iEARN's Approval Code is 04851
Washington State
We are Washington State Clock Hour Offering Agency. Teachers who successfully complete iEARN online courses will be awarded 36 Washington State Clock Hours for professional development.
Wyoming State
The Professional Teaching Standards Board of Wyoming State will grant 3 hours of teacher in-service to teachers for a successful completion of any of the eight iEARN online courses.
