Laws of life Laws of life are the rules, ideals, and principles by which one chooses to live. The Laws of Life Project invites young people to express in their own words what they value most in life. Participants will submit essays about their laws of life in which they describe the rules, ideals, and principles by which they live, and explain the sources of their laws of life (reading, life experience, religion, culture, role models, etc.). Participants respond to each other's essays and interact with each other electronically. They will also be able to report on any dialogue or events that occur in their learning communities as they participate in the Laws of Life Project, and are encouraged to use what they learned about values to initiate change within the community through action projects. Laws of Life Essays from the Heart Compilations. VOLUME 4 : This compilation was created from Laws of Life Essays written between September 2001 and July 2002. It contains 361 essays from 14 different countries. A new feature of this compilation is that it contains interactive activities that students can print out and complete on their own or in class.There are also suggestions for activities that you can do in your community based on laws of life essays. All teachers and students are encouraged to help build more such activities into this and future compilations. ACTIVITY SHEETS These activity sheets were created to help give you ideas of how to use the Laws of Life essays as additional classroom lessons. Activity sheet #1: Similes and Metaphors Activity sheet #2: Practicing your Laws of Life VOLUME 2 This book was the result of the Laws of Life project that took place from May 15, 1999 to May 15, 2000. Students submitted essays over the Internet on in print, and they were compiled by iEARN-USA. There are over 1000 essays from 25 countries in 7 languages ncluded. Essays cover thematic topics like as "Friendship," "Family," "Honesty," and "Love." Some sample chapters in .pdf format are available for downloading here.
