Wichita, Kansas: Things are WONDERFUL here at Hadley Middle School in Wichita, KS with iEARN! It has taken a while, but the staff is slowly becoming more involved with projects offered through iEARN. April in Azerbaijan: iEARN teacher, Nicole Boujaber -Diederichs, from Cypress Creek High School in Florida traveled to Azerbaijan to visit a fellow iEARN teacher Farida Huseynova - a teacher at School #290. Teachers exchanged their work on iEARN projects, ideas, reflections and challenges. Both teachers hope to meet again at the iEARN International Conference in Uzbekistan. PROJECT SPOTLIGHT
Explore these wonderful iEARN projects and connect with teachers and students around the globe.
Daffodil and Tulip Project - Students around the world plant bulbs and
collect data on various parameters (latitude, longitude, sunlight,
temperature etc...) and track when they blossom. Students collaborate online sharing their observations and data. The project is facilitated by Amy Dwyer of the USA and Ruty Hotzen of Israel. Pictured: students from Ruxton Country School in Maryland with their blossomed tulips.
Media Connects: Check out this screenshot taken from a videoconference between iEARN students in Japan, Canada and Taiwan for the Machinto Project. In this project, students learn how others perceive war and talk about finding ways to resolve differences.
A Vision Project: Last month teachers from Ohio piloted iEARN integrating the A Vision Project. During the pilot, students submitted various writing samples, including the following poem:
Growing and changing shape shifting in ways
You get bigger and taller and smarter each day
More responsibilities the work gets harder
But you will learn more and more as you grow older
You get acne you are growing and getting mature after all
Pimples, blemishes and black heads are here
The project is an anthology of student literary works including prose, poetry, and artwork. Join this project...
