The Third YouthCaN Med Conference

Beirut, April 23, 2004
On April 26th the Lebanon office of the International Education and Resource Network (iEARN-Lebanon) will host the third YouthCaN Med conference under the heading Waste Mismanagement, No More! The YouthCaN Med conference is the result of a two-semester program in environmental studies and a nine-week online course. The conference comes as the final event in a weeklong program that includes participants from Egypt, Jordan, Tunisia and the United States. During the conference students and teachers from 22 schools will conduct 28 demonstration workshops, including a number of live videoconference sessions between YouthCaN Med with a parallel event being held a the Museum of Natural History in New York City.

The conference will be held at The American Community School in Beirut and will be attended by over 400 teachers and students, as well as senior officials from the Ministries of Education and Environment, and diplomatic representatives from participating countries

 
Global Connections & Exchange Program (GCE) is made possible through support and funding from the US State Department's (DOS) Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA).  It is a part of iEARN-USA's BRIDGE project which is committed to connecting students and teachers in the US to those in countries with significant Muslim populations
