About Us
iEARN-USA is a member of iEARN (International Education and Resource Network), the world's largest K-12 non-profit global network that enables young people to use the Internet and other new technologies to engage in collaborative educational projects that both enhance learning and make a difference in the world.
  • 1988 Peter Copen founded iEARN linking 12 schools in Moscow with 12 schools in New York State
  • 1990 iEARN expanded to nine countries providing training and support to teachers
  • Today iEARN has programs in over 120 countries with 20,000 schools and youth organizations connecting 2 million students worldwide
iEARN encourages collaboration between students and educators within the global network. iEARN places high priority on building partnerships that include project work and online and face-to-face training. Teacher and student partnerships are sustained and new ones formed through interaction in:
  • Online Projects: 200 thematic-based projects designed and faciliated by teachers and students.
  • Professional Development: online courses and trainings for teachers that explore how to integrate technology into their teaching and how to use online collaborative projects that meet their local, state and national educational standards.
  • Special Events: iEARN also hosts local, regional and international gatherings throughout the year. The largest of these gatherings is the Annual iEARN International Conference, this year hosted by iEARN Egypt in Cairo.
