Common Core State Standards and iEARN Projects

Join iEARN teachers Mary Brownell and Deanne McBeath for an inspiring webinar! They will share how their students' involvement in iEARN projects is making a difference in their communities and in the world. They are creating gardens, raising hens, coordinating school assemblies, raising funds to help a partner school in Kenya, presenting at international conferences, and expanding curriculum in their schools. Mary and Deanne will discuss how Global Collaboration and iEARN projects can bring real-life experience and meaning to the Common Core State Standards.

Plan Your Year with Projects
Get a head start on planning for the 2012-2013 school year by looking at iEARN projects that can be used in your curriculum. We will be featuring projects that have specific times for registration or participation throughout the year. This is a great opportunity to find projects that take advantage of holidays and special events to get your students involved with others around the world.

How can you bring the world into your classroom
iEARN offers many projects and opportunities to have your students learn with others around the world. This webinar is designed to help teachers get started and effectively use iEARN projects in the classroom.
"Bringing the World into Your Classroom with iEARN" will get you familiar with some of the projects and how you can use the Collaboration Centre to participate in them and make connections. This webinar will give you ideas of projects for your classrooms.

Special Webinar - Live from the Middle East: Classroom Connections Amidst Political Changes
On Wednesday, April 20th, a very special live and interactive event was hosted with educators from Egypt, Tunisia, Lebanon, and Morocco. We discussed the political changes taking place in the Middle East, the impact of technology on both politics and education, and student-to-student interactions worldwide.
